Book an appointment with any GP?
Read our appointments page, and follow the instructions which depend on the time of day.
Make an urgent appointment?
Should you need to see the doctor for an urgent condition on the same day as you call, you will not be able to request a specific doctor and you may have a wait, but you will always be seen. Emergency appointments are available each day or you may be invited to come and wait until the end of surgery to be seen.
Tel: (024) 7622 4640 (HARNALL LANE) or (024) 7641 8841(GREEN LANE)
If you need an urgent appointment, ring after 8.30am for that morning but before 10.30am and after 10.30am but before 4.00pm for that afternoon.
Urgent appointments or extras at the end of the day are shorter and usually the doctor only has time to deal with a single complaint.
For anyone planning to see their GP, there are a few simple things you can do to make the most of your appointment:
- Make sure you know how your practice appointment system works so you can get an appointment when you want it, and with the GP you prefer.
- If you know you have more than one problem or it's complicated, ask your practice if you can book a double appointment.
- Before your appointment, think about what you want to say and make a few brief notes if you need to, even if you don't use them in the consultation; it can help to think things through in this way.
- Think about any questions you have and also what your GP might ask you.
- Sometimes people forget afterwards what the GP said and if that sounds like you, ask your GP for some written information about the advice you've been given. This will help your GP to help you and enable you to get the most out of your consultation.
Book an appointment with a certain GP?
This is easier if you register for EMIS ACCESS to be able to book appointments online with the doctor of your choice. However, you may ask for a certain GP when you telephone or attend the surgery.

Make a double appointment?
Please help us to help you by providing clear information regarding your requirements to ensure adequate time with the doctor. Double appointments are sometimes needed for Women’s Health Examinations & Coil fittings, complicated psychological or social problems, diabetes reviews, annual mental health care planning reviews & antenatal care. Ask for a double appointment when you book. You may have to explain briefly what the reason is for a double appointment.
Please remember that if you cannot keep an appointment for whatever reason please telephone the surgery and let us know.
Book the correct type of appointment - in person or telephone call?
Golden rules for all appointments
If you decide that your appointment is no longer needed, please ring up and cancel so that someone else can have the appointment instead.
Does more than one family member need to see the doctor? If so, please make a separate appointment for each person.
If you have several different problems to discuss, please make a longer appointment or separate appointments. Your doctor has only 10 minutes allocated for each routine consultation and will be hard pushed to adequately deal with too many questions.
If you want to discuss something simple, have a form to sign or a question about your prescription but aren’t actually ill, book a telephone appointment. It is more convenient for you and allows the doctor to see more ill people.
Get my results?
Please phone (024) 7622 4640 (HARNALL LANE) or (024) 7641 8841(GREEN LANE) after 2.30 p.m. as the phone lines won’t be so busy. You may be told the result, asked to make a personal or telephone appointment with your doctor, or a prescription may be provided for you
Register as a new patient?
Bring in your NHS card or just come in to fill in a short form if you live within our practice area. You can also download and print the form here or complete a pre-registration form online.
Request a home visit?
Please ring (024) 7622 4640 (HARNALL LANE) or (024) 7641 8841(GREEN LANE) before 11.30am. Doctors provide a home visiting service only when absolutely necessary. Do not be surprised to be asked to attend surgery when you feel ill as traveling to and from visits takes up the time to see 3 or more people at the surgery.
Request out of hours assistance?
After Government defined normal hours, which are Monday to Friday 0800-1830, GP services are taken over by Coventry Teaching PCT.
Ring call the surgery as if you were requesting a daytime urgent visit or directly on call 01926 888 026.
